Snagging 131 Calvin and Hobbes quote "I wouldn't have been so eager to reach adulthood" icon because THIS IS TRUTH.

I love the painterly quality of 100, the Buffy/Never Leave Me icon but I associate it with one of your users pics so I hesitate to snag. (tis a quirk of mine. ever_neutral uses your Anne/Slayer icon so I associate with her and therefore won't snag. It's a thing with me.)

Mea culpa. I apologize for somehow missing this comment. I try to answer all my comments so how I missed this second (!!!! AWESOME!!!) page of comments baffles me.

That quote is SO. FRACKING. TRUE. Honestly, who knew that adults are making stuff up as the go all day long?On the other hand, once you know that everyone around you is making stuff up as they go, the weirdness of the world suddenly makes perfect sense! :)

Right? Stuff will pop up that I "learned" (got drilled into my head) as a kid and I still follow if I'm aware of it or not - and I try to step back because most of the time, it's a bunch of "old wives tales" and proverbs and handed-down phrases, not hard-earned wisdom. But damn if our programming isn't powerful stuff. Unlearning what we were taught in the first 20 years of our lives seems to take our entire remaining lifetime. */tongue only partially in cheek here*
